DG Derm Wound Cleansing Solution
Due to its strong antimicrobial action and biofilm-removing ability, DG Derm wound cleansing solution is used to clean, moisturize, and disinfect all types of acute or chronic wounds, especially sloughy and necrotic wounds, in order to remove the barriers efficiently and facilitate conditions conducive to debridement and wound healing.
Antimicrobial Wound Cleansing Solution
DG Derm antimicrobial wound cleaning Solution, specially developed based on very effective antimicrobial agents such as polyhexanide (PHMB) and betaine surfactant, shows great effectiveness against a wide variety of microorganisms including fungi, gram negative and positive bacteria even its treatment-resistant types such as MRSA, VRE, as well as biofilm, and thus inhibits its formation or increase the wound infection.
Recent global studies on antimicrobial agents ranked polyhexanide (PHMB) as one of the most significant choices in wound care products, particularly in preventing and curing infection by a wide range of wound microorganisms, including resistant bacteria. Its higher efficacy than other antimicrobial agents has ranked PHMB as a top priority in wound care. Such prioritization is consistent with the global priority of using PHMB-containing products for their proven antimicrobial efficacy.
PHMB and the approach to dealing with microorganisms
PHMB is a linear polymer with cationic biguanide groups attached to hexamethylene chains, with a structure similar to antimicrobial peptides, which possess strong activity against a broad spectrum of viruses, fungi, yeasts, gram-negative and positive bacteria, and their antibiotic-resistant species.
Due to its biocompatibility and distinct chemical and electrostatic nature, polyhexanide is an ideal compound that inflicts no damage to cells and is extremely efficient in treating and preventing wounds infection. This compound distorts the microbial cell structure and ultimately kills the microbial cell by binding to the microorganism’s cell membrane and disrupting its functional metabolism.
Betaine and the approach to combating biofilm
Betaine is an amphoteric, non-sulfated surfactant that is biocompatible, effective, and gentle. It works by lowering surface tension and is capable of penetrating, disrupting, and removing biofilm without damaging healthy tissue. The betaine surfactant property enables it to bind onto biofilm through its hydrophobic tail, breaking it and killing its matrix. Meanwhile, its hydrophilic head suspends and removes impurities for efficient cleansing. In addition, the availability of betaine in the wound site inhibits the formation of new biofilm, resulting in a cleaner and healthier environment for healing.
The synergy between betaine and polyhexanide multiplies the cleaning power of the DG Derm wound cleansing solution. This effect occurs because betaine reduces surface tension, enhancing polyhexanide penetration and accelerating its antimicrobial activity.
75 and 250 ml Spray of DG Derm Cleaning Solution
It effectively supports more rapid healing by cleaning and moistening superficial burns and wounds. It may also prove to be highly beneficial in changing dried or clotted dressings painlessly and without secondary trauma. Since this product sprays a vast area without the hand’s involvement, it may reduce infection risk and provide optimal conditions for wound healing. DG Derm spray is available for use for 12 months from the opening date.
300ml DG Derm Antimicrobial Cleansing Solution
The 300ml nozzle bottle of DG Derm is used to clean all wounds, especially covered wounds, slough, and necrosis, to effectively remove these barriers and establish the optimum conditions for debridement and wound healing.
Since dressings have a tendency to adhere to the wound surfaces due to their nature, attempt to remove the dressing on dry form from the wound surface, it might cause fresh trauma, which aggravates the infection risk and slows down the healing process; where the dressing won’t be removed easily, moistening it with DG Derm Antimicrobial cleansing Solution can facilitate it to be removed from the wound surface. It can also be used to clean wounds by wetting sterile gauze or pads, thereby performing effective debridement.
This product can be used for up to 8 weeks after opening.
DG Derm cleansing solutions can be used by applying them directly to the wound bed or by moistening sterile gauze or pads, which ultimately allows for easy and painless dressing changes and facilitates wound cleansing without secondary damage.
In addition to their antimicrobial activity infection and biofilm elimination from wounds, these products also have an active role to play in the debridement process and wound bed preparation through hydration and pH control.
DG Derm Cleansing Solution Usage
DG Derm Wound Cleansing Solution is designed to cleanse, hydrate, decontaminate, and prevent infection in acute and chronic wounds including Venous wounds, types of burn wounds, wounds caused by trauma, diabetic foot ulcers, medical catheter insertion sites, cuts and abrasions, radiotherapy wounds, pressure ulcers, post-surgical wounds, ostomy sites, chemical contact wounds such as bases and acids.

Investigating the biofilm inhibition and eradication capability of DG Derm cleansing solution
The inhibitory and eradicating activity of DG Derm cleansing solution on biofilm was tested by a reference laboratory following the international standard ASTM E2799-17 and the national standard 16684, and the result showed that this product has an outstanding ability of inhibiting and killing biofilm. Based on these results, it can be stated that these products have a high inhibitory activity on the primary adhesion, growth and development of biofilm.

Evaluating the Efficiency of DG Derm Cleansing Solution
Tests in the laboratory have established that DG Derm Antimicrobial Wound Cleansing Solution works quickly, killing 100% of resistant microorganisms within one hour of use. The quick action makes the product a very potent antimicrobial solution.
Besides its direct activity, DG Derm forms a thin antimicrobial film at the wound site, offering long-term antimicrobial effects. Polyhexanide, a potent antimicrobial, is behind the rapid effectiveness. Polyhexanide is more effective than silver-containing solutions and other antimicrobial products, reducing treatment duration and expense significantly.

How to use DG Derm wound Cleansing Solution
Clean the wound and adjacent skin with DG Derm Wound Cleansing Solution, and dry the wound area gently. When using 75 ml or 250 ml DG Derm spray, hold the bottle 15 cm from the wound and spray solution evenly across the wound. For the 300 mL bottle, gently squeeze to dispense a controlled, steady stream of solution directly onto the wound.
